It took New York by storm, and now the increasingly trendy Bánh Mì food concept has hit Berlin, courtesy of Cô Cô Bánh Mì Deli. Bánh Mì, essentially a Vietnamese sandwich, is a chewy rice-flour baguette stuffed full of a perfect balance of roast pork (or tofu), crunchy pickled veggies, spicy chillis and hot sauce. This little outlet, which is just over a mile away from the hostel near Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn station, is beloved by the city’s Vietnamese cuisine fans. It offers a variety of mouth-watering options beyond the typical pork Bánh Mì, with vegetarians well catered for. And with prices starting at just 4.20 euro, this makes for a bargain lunch treat.
