Why not start off the new year by dabbling into the world of newer cuisine, especially if it’s as delicious as Ethiopian? Comprised of a mixture of vegetarian and meat-based dishes such as ‘Alitscha’, ‘Kitfo’ and ‘Dorowot’, Ethiopian food offers an incomparable flavour sensation balanced by familiar textures in the carefully-reduced, curry like dishes.
One great little haunt is Blue Nile on Tempelhofer Ufer in Kreuzberg. Offering a sociable dining experience, diners pick off parts of the savoury pancake, ‘Injera’, by hand to act as self-made cutlery. Highly recommended come the platters which is authentic to an Ethiopian dining experience; with everyone sitting around the perimeter of the large plate, diving into the deliciousness before you. Platter for 2 people starts at around 19EUR.
