Park for sale: how’s about that for an auction? The former GDR era amusement park in Berlin Plänterwald is up for sale on Ebay for €1.62 million. Not to say that’s anywhere near a price range any of us could fathom, but it’s a sign of what this incredibly unique theme park has to offer curious eyes…
Eerily quiet, Spreepark is flanked by green woods at the edge of Treptower Park. The sense of being in a historic relic is undeniable. Spreepark opened in 1969 as East Germany’s sole permanent amusement park. Spread over 29.5 hectares of land, the park is iconic for both its 45 metre ferris wheel and prehistoric that remain for all to see.
Trespassing is not looked upon with kind eyes in Germany so it’s better to be careful and pay to do a tour at the weekend. Click here for more info!
