FOOD: ChocoKebab in Kreuzberg

ChocoKebab in Kreuzberg – Kebabs like you’ve never seen ‘em before

What comes to mind when you think of ChocoKebab? Probably a sense of confusion and intrigue as chocolate and kebab respectively do serve as a widely-held guilty pleasure. That said, combining the two is probably something even the most daring of foodies would advise to leave well alone. But no fear here – the ChocoKebab is an Italian-inspired creation made entirely of chocolate but packaged to resemble those Doner wonders Berlin is so famous for!

Nestled directly beneath Hallesches Tor U-Bahn station, the TasteAway café that serves as Berlin’s only ChocoKebab outlet is very easy to locate. For those really lacking in much sense of direction, large posters adorning the window will give you a final push in the right direction. Inside, you’ll find the lovely owner Quynh Trang Le ready to serve up her €2.99 creation.

Shavings peeled off a chocolate rotating spit provide the filling, and a freshly-made crepe, whipped cream and chocolate sauce complete the final product. Soft, fluffy and sweet, it’ll be love at first bite! Fruit is also optional and ice cream will be too in the summer! Enjoy!!
